Safety Training Courses

Our instructor is certified through Haland Learning and Fusion Safety to deliver their respective safety training courses. Instruction combines established course materials with field experience and practical learning.

Prepare workers to operate scissor lifts, boom lifts, and vertical platforms with a clear understanding of equipment capabilities, limitations, and operating hazards. Classroom instruction and practical evaluation address safe operation in the conditions workers encounter on site.

Topics include pre-use inspections, function checks, platform capacity, stability, ground conditions, overhead obstructions, electrical hazards, and pedestrian traffic. 

Participants also learn about emergency lowering, platform access, and applicable fall protection requirements. Employers remain responsible for equipment-specific familiarization and operator authorization.

Help workers recognize fall hazards and understand how to select, inspect, and use appropriate protection systems. Practical exercises reinforce harness fitting, equipment inspection, and the differences between fall restraint and fall arrest.

Instruction covers anchorage, connector compatibility, lanyards, self-retracting devices, fall clearance, free-fall distance, and swing-fall hazards. Participants also learn how equipment limitations, site conditions, fall protection planning, and rescue arrangements affect safe work at height.

Prepare entrants and monitors to understand their responsibilities and recognize conditions that can make confined space work dangerous. Training covers oxygen deficiency and enrichment, toxic and flammable atmospheres, engulfment, restricted access, and hazardous energy.

Participants learn about atmospheric testing, instrument checks, ventilation, isolation, lockout, entry permits, and communication between entrants and standby personnel. Emergency instruction addresses when entry must stop, how to raise the alarm, and why rescue arrangements must be established before entry. 

This course supports site-specific entry procedures and does not qualify participants to perform technical confined space rescue.

Confirm whether a specific respirator make, model, style, and size fits the individual worker. Qualitative testing uses an approved test agent and the wearer’s response to detect leakage, while quantitative testing uses an instrument to measure leakage and calculate a fit factor.

Workers receive guidance on positioning, adjustment, and user seal checks, with records supplied for the employer’s respiratory protection program. Workers must be clean-shaven where the respirator seals and bring their assigned respirator and any equipment that could affect its fit. Effective protection also depends on correct respirator selection, use, and maintenance.

Arrange workplace first aid training directly through Illuminate, with delivery coordinated through authorized training providers. The course level and certification pathway are selected according to your workplace needs and applicable provincial requirements.

Depending on the course, instruction includes scene and casualty assessment, CPR, AED use, choking, bleeding control, shock, burns, fractures, and other medical emergencies. Hands-on scenarios allow participants to practice response skills and demonstrate the competencies required for certification.

Our mobile service brings training to your location, reducing travel and time away from field operations. The employer provides a suitable classroom or testing space, and we confirm any equipment and safe work areas needed for practical assessments before booking.
